How to Help

1 STEP

Volunteer

Volunteer Your Time, Energy & Talents

Get involved by joining our Community Action Team (CAT), a dedicated all-volunteer team.  We organize the fundraisers to fund the purchase of books for Henry County preschoolers.  Also, we register the infants and children who will receive the books, and we partner with other local organizations to promote literacy.  We meet 3 times each year in McDonough.

“Contact Us” for more information or to let us know you’d like to join us.

2 STEP

Attend

Attend One of Our Special Events

Join friends, neighbors, colleagues, and community leaders at the next Ferst Readers of Henry County Spring Luncheon.  For more details, see “Events,” and be on the lookout for information to come, about the 12th Annual Spring Luncheon 2019.

Attend the annual Kick-Off for Ferst Mentors (late Summer each year) and be a part of a successful Ferst Readers/Henry County Schools Cooperative Fundraiser.  See “Events” for more information about this fundraiser and “Contact Us” to see how you can help.  Don’t miss the next Kick-Off for Ferst Mentors in late Summer 2019.

Don’t miss the next Henry Hundred social event!  Join this group of over 130 fun-loving, community-supporting Henry County citizens who commit to an annual donation of $100 to Ferst Readers of Henry County.  “Contact Us” to find out how you can join Henry Hundred, and stay tuned for information on our next Henry Hundred social event.

Donate

Sponsor a Child—Give the Gift of Literacy

Your donation of $36 provides a preschool child right here in your community with a quality, age-appropriate book every month for one year.  All of the books are carefully selected by experts in the field of early child development and education.  The books are mailed directly to the child and they are free.  The gift of Literacy is a gift that will last a lifetime!  Choose to “Donate Now.”
